Entry Requirements.Cranio-Sacral Therapy Training. The College provides a range of different courses to suit different needs - catering for professional therapists, student therapists, and far those aspiring to become therapists Previous participants include Osteopaths, Acupuncturists, Homeopaths, Chiropractors, Shiatsu practitioners, Alexander Technique teachers, Masseurs, Doctors, Nurses, Midwives, Physiotherapists, Psychotherapists, Aromatherapists, Reflexologists and Naturopaths. The main Cranio-Sacral Therapy courses are aimed primarily at professional therapists in either orthodox or alternative fields and a sound knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology is required. Those without such grounding will be required to acquire a background in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology and may be required to attend other courses in bodywork. The introductory courses in Cranio-Sacral Therapy are open to non-therapists, so that students can assess whether Cranio-Sacral Therapy suits them before committing themselves to a full training. Foundation Course in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology. The purpose of the course is to provide a firm foundation in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology in preparation for attendance of the full professional training in Cranio-Sacral Therapy. It is suitable for practitioners in a wide range of alternative disciplines. Those without sufficient grounding in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology will be required to attend this course (or a suitable equivalent). This can be done either before the Cranio-Sacral Therapy course or in conjunction with the first year of the two-year course. This course consists of six weekends from October to June with a substantial amount of course work in between. Successful completion of the final exam entitles the student to a Certificate and eligibility to attend the Cranio-Sacral Therapy course. In this course there is particular emphasis on Pathology (an area not covered in depth in the majority of Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology courses) and also an emphasis on a practical understanding of the human body rather than mere theoretical learning. Whilst these courses are not a compulsory requirement, they are recommended for all students - since the anatomy of the Cranio-Sacral System is not generally covered in any detail in most Anatomy and Physiology courses - and they are strongly recommended for students without previous training in this field. ....See Assessment, Graduation & Qualification...... |
